Malaysian High Commissioner H.E. Ikram Bin Muhammad Ibrahim called on Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Mr. Shafqat Mahmooed. Both sides exchanged views on range of bilateral issues on mutual interest.

Malaysian High Commissioner H.E. Ikram Bin Muhammad Ibrahim called on Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Mr. Shafqat Mahmooed. Both sides exchanged views on range of bilateral issues on mutual interest. Federal Minister said that Dr. Mahathir Muhammad is a hero of many Pakistanis and great Muslim leader indeed. Both sides expressed the desire to further deepen ties through consistent engagements in the area of Education and Culture. Federal Minister also suggested the exchange of reciprocal visits of troops to enhance the cultural linkages between two countries. To share the enlightened vision of PTI government, Federal Minister apprised High Commissioner about the steps taken for Sikh Community including opening kartar Pur corridor and establishing a Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib.


Federal Minister also recounted the huge skill training program of one hundred and seventy thousand youth by this government and invited Malaysian experts of Automobile industry to contribute their services in this regard.


On a lighter note, Mr. Shafqat Mahmood asked the secret of Dr. Mahathir’s health and the high commissioner said that this question was frequently asked by him (Mahathir Muhammad) and he always answered “Choose your parents wisely”.


The Malaysian Higher Commissioner presented a memoir of Tun Dr. Mahathir Muhammad to the Federal Minister and the Minister thanked him.


The both sides reaffirmed their firm resolve to further strengthen their relations in the areas of Education, Skill Development and Culture.
